Rationalism is the view that reason is the chief source and test of
knowledge, it is a methodology in which the criterion of the truth is
not sensory but intellectual and deductive.
During the scientific
revolution, changing perceptions about the role of the scientist in
respect to nature, the value of evidence, experimental or observed, led
towards a scientific methodology in which rationalism<span> played a large role.</span>
Cherokee attempts at resisting the removal by the United States included creating a formal Cherokee constitution, negotiating the Treat of 1819, and proceeding with legal action within the Supreme Court. These actions proved futile when Andrew Jackson was elected President and forcibly removed them for their land.
