Answer:

Dwayne worked 20 hours for first job and 25 hours for second job.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of hours worked by Dwayne in first job = x

Let the number of hours worked by Dwayne in second job = y

Then, \[x + y = 45\] ----------------- (1)

First job pays $14 per hour

Second job pays $10 per hour

=> \[14x + 10y = 530\] ------------- (2)

Solving (1) and (2):

\[y = 45 - x\]

Substituting in (2):

\[14x + 10 (45-x) = 530\]

=> \[14x + 450- 10x = 530\]

=> \[4x  = 530 - 450\]

=> \[4x  = 80\]

=> \[x  = 20\]

Substituting in (1):

\[y = 45 - x\]

=> \[y = 45 - 20\]

=> \[y = 25 \]
