Con la caída del Imperio Romano de Occidente, se comenzó a consolidar un proceso de mezcla cultural en Europa. Esta mezcla será entre elementos culturales, étnicos, económicos, sociales, y expansionistas.

Después de la caída del imperio Romano, las tribus Germánicas como los Bárbaros fueron expandiendo su influencia en diferentes regiones que anteriormente habían pertenecido al otrora glorioso imperio Romano. Los territorios se fragmentaron , la división y el caos imperó, aunque la presencia de la iglesia no menguó.

Todas estas tribus y divisiones comenzaron a conformar las nuevas naciones Europeas de la época, que abrirían paso al llamado periodo de la Edad Media, que trajo consigo nuevas formas de organización territorial, jerárquica, económica y política, como fue el causo del feudalismo.

The Constitutional Convention happened in 1787 in Philadelphia. The intent of the convention was to establish the U.S. Constitution. Each state, regardless of its number of delegates had a single vote. Thirty-nine of the fifty-five delegates supported the adoption of the new Constitution. Rhode Island was against the Convention and therefore sent no representation.

Of the present delegates, the 16 representatives who refused to sign the Constitution were:
