The U.S. went into war with Iraq in 1991 because President Bush and his administration said that they were an imminent (basically saying it was bound to happen so let's stop this before it gets any worse) threat because of Saddam's weapons and ties to terrorism and Al-Qaeda (translated to "The Base"), an Islamic terrorist group, who targeted the U.S. beliving that they were the root of their problems.
