Answer: 6

Step-by-step explanation: okay. Here we go. This will be long.

You have to use the inverse operation. That means use the opposite operation. For example, the opposite operation of addition is subtraction. So let’s ignore the 3x for now. That means the equation is +2=20. The inverse operation of addition is subtraction. So we subtract 2 from 20. That equals 18. Then we subtract 2 from 2. That equals 0. Now our equation is =18. Now remember 3x? You bring that back in. So our equation is 3x=18. See what I did? I simplified the equation. 3x means “3 times x” because x is a variable. And the opposite of times (multiplication) is division. So you divide 3 from 18. That equals 6. And we divide 3 from 3x. That equals 1x. Ax is basically the same thing as x. So now what doe we have left? X= 6. Your answer is 6.

When a car's tire pressure is 30 pounds per square inch (psi), it averages 20.5 mpg of gasoline. If the tire pressure is incre
bearhunter [10]

For A, divide total miles by the miles per gallon for each tire pressure to find the number of gallons of gas used:

At 30 psi: 23000 / 20.5 = 1121.95 gallons , round to 1121 gallons.

At 35 psi: 23000 / 21.1 = 1090 gallons.

Number of gallons saved: 1121 - 1090 = 31 gallons.

B) multiply the cost per gallon by the number of gallons saved:

31 gallons x $2.00 = $62.00 saved.

C) Multiply the gallons saved by 1 car by total number of cars:

31 gallons x 140 million cars = 4,340 million gallons ( 4 billion 340 million gallons)

Answer:

1/3 ( 5y-2) = x

Step-by-step explanation:

5y = 3x+2

Subtract 2 from each side

5y -2 = 3x+2-2

5y-2 = 3x

Divide each side by 3

1/3 ( 5y-2) = 3x/3

1/3 ( 5y-2) = x
