Answer:

Environmental stressors such as starvation or exposure to toxic chemicals may cause the prophage to be excised and enter the lytic cycle.

Explanation:

Lysogenic stages and Lytic stages are all found within the Life Cycle of the Virus.

In a lysogenic cycle, the phage genome also enters the cell through attachment and penetration. A good example of a phage with this kind of life cycle is the lambda phage. During the lysogenic cycle, the phage genome integrates into the bacterial chromosome and becomes part of the host. instead of killing it.

During the lytic cycle of virulent phage, the bacteriophage takes over the cell, reproduces new phages, and destroys the cell.

Cheers!

Sonbull [250]

Answer:

(B) Boreal owls range over larger areas in regions where food of the sort eaten by small mammals is sparse than they do in regions where such food is abundant

Explanation:

Living beings exhibit various changes in the behavior and niche to make themselves better fitted to the conditions of their habitats.

Boreal owls feed on the other smaller mammals such as mice and shrews. These organisms that serve as their prey are relatively less abundant in the habitat. To ensure the food availability, the boreal owls occupy a larger area so that they can catch their less abundant food organisms.

In the habitats where the prey species of boreal owls are present in a larger number, these owls occupy smaller regions since the food organisms are easily available.

One reason native plants are declining is that the invasive plants absorb nitrogen from the soil about twice as fast (α = 2). Ho
Dmitry_Shevchenko [17]

Answer:

α = 0 if β= 0

Explanation:

If both species want to persist in the same environment and their niches are also over lapping then both of the co-efficient values should be equal. There are two possibilities on these values for persistence. One is that one should compromise to the change produced by the invasive specie and two is that the new specie should compromise if he wants to stay (<em><u>Assuming that there is no competition</u></em>). In this way their niches won't overlap to a greater extent and therefore better chances of survival for both.

How does the Digestive system help maintain homeostasis?
Gnesinka [82]

Answer:

The bacterial flora in the intestines are essential to homeostasis in the body, they not only break down food so the nutrients can be absorbed, they produce vitamins like biotin and vitamin K and guard against harmful bacteria that enter the system. While your heart is a vital organ, the brain (and the nervous system that attaches to the brain) make up the most critical organ system in the human body. The digestive system ordinarily gets 20% to 25% of the oxygenated blood pumped out by the heart and the receptors in muscles provide the brain with information about body position and movement, the brain controls the contraction of skeletal muscle the nervous system regulates the speed at which food moves through the digestive tract.
