Since the first equation is already set up as x= use it to plug into the second equation.
x + 2y = 8
(y -1) + 2y = 8
y -1 + 2y = 8
3y -1 = 8
Add 1 to both sides
3y = 9
Divide both sides by 3
y = 3
Use x = y - 1 to solve for x
x = 3 - 1
x = 2

What is the final product? ^5sqrt4x^2 ^5sqrt4x^2
AnnyKZ [126]
For this case we have the following expression:
 ^ 5sqrt4x ^ 2 ^ 5sqrt4x ^ 2
 Rewriting the expression we have:
 ((4x ^ 2) ^ (1/5)) ((4x ^ 2) ^ (1/5))
 For power properties we have:
 (4x ^ 2) ^ (1/5 + 1/5)
 (4x ^ 2) ^ (2/5)
 Rewriting we have:
 (16x ^ 4) ^ (1/5)
 ^ 5sqrt16x ^ 4
 Answer:

^5sqrt16x^4
