Women started to compare themselves to African-Americans. This was because both of these groups essentially had no political, social, or legal rights. Both groups could not vote, own property, serve on a jury, be heard in a court of law, etc. This negatively impacted both groups for a significant amount of time.
The Civil War took place in America over an internal struggle. It was over two different beliefs and the country was divided over this idea. This led to a struggle that would be one of the bloodiest wars in american history.
