In what way did ancient Athens influence the framers of the United States constitution

The ancient Athenian government had two houses in their legislative branch, just like the United States has today.

In the United States we have the House of Representatives and Senate which make up our legislative branch. The House of Representatives has 435 members. A states representation in this part of Congress depends on their population. On the other hand, each state has 2 Senators regardless of their population.

Ancient Athens influence the framers of the United States constitution as the present bicameral structure of the United State legislature is the same as that of the Athenian legislature.

Further Explanations:

Athens was a Greek empire that extended from Egypt to India. A Democratic system of administration was accomplished by the Athenians where residents were allowed to partake in the decisions of the regime. The legislative body was divided into three fragments namely the Assembly, the Council, and the Court. The meeting held at the assembly used to be grand and all the eligible male citizens were allowed to participate in it. On the other hand, the Council used to have 500 members of which 10 members were known to be Archon who were responsible for the rotation of the work of President. Lastly, courts were responsible for the judicial matters of the realm.

We can compare that the Constitution of the United States is almost the same as that of the Athenian constitution. Its power is also separated into three branches comprising a legislative branch with bicameral congress, executive branch consisting of President and Judicial branch with Supreme Court as its federal court.

The bubonic plague caused mass death and it was caused by the lack of sanitation systems throughout medieval towns. The peasants/serfs demanded more and more as the rich people needed more to supply themselves. Eventually, the peasants got a say in government for this. The bubonic plague also caused a lot of the roman empire to die.
