You would plug in the y=9 into the first equation and then have the expression 9=9x-9 . After going through the first steps of solving an expression you would get 18=9x. X=2. Then you would plug in the x value into the first expression to get y=9.
I'm a little confused as to how you wrote out each of the equations, but if there are 2 ounces of fruit cremes, and the box weighs 8 ounces, then there would be 6 ounces of caramels in the box.
