The ordered pairs below show Larry's inputs and the corresponding outputs displayed by the calculator: (1, 5), (2, 9), (3, 13), (4, 17) Which of the following functions best represents the rule that the calculator uses to display the outputs?

Select one:
a. f(n) = 5n − 1
b. f(n) = 5n + 1

F(n)=4n+1 seems to be the basic function for these sets.

F(x) = 4x + 1

Let's test it out.

f(1) = 4(1) + 1 = 4 + 1 = 5; (1,5)
f(2) = 4(2) + 1 = 8 + 1 = 9; (2,9)
f(3) = 4(3) + 1 = 12 + 1 = 13; (3,13)
f(4) = 4(4) + 1 = 16 + 1 = 17; (4,17)

<span>So, your function is f(x) = 4x + 1</span>

What is the Pythagorean Theorem used for? What is the formula
saveliy_v [14]
The Pythagorean Theorem states that a triangle's hypotenuse is equal to the square's of the other two sides of the triangle.

a² + b² = c<span>²
a = side of triangle
b = other side of triangle
c = hypotenuse (squared)

Find the square root to find the accurate length of the hypotenuse.</span>

Nataly [62]

-1/9+-5/9=

When you are adding a negative number, the operation turns into subtraction:

-1/9-5/9=\frac{-1-5}{9}=-\frac{6}{9}=-\frac{2}{3}

Really, it's just subtraction. The simplest form is -2/3, which is equal to -0.66667.

I hope this helps :)

Find the mean of the data set. If necessary, round to the nearest tenth. 18 14 8 22 25 8 A. 15.8 B, 14.8 C.16.1 D.17.3
madreJ [45]
To find the mean you add all the numbers then divide by the amount of numbers there are so it would be 18+14+8+22+25+8=95 then divide 95 by 6. You get 15.8333333 the answer is A
