Granville Woods (1856 – 1910) was an American inventor who managed to introduce several improvements in the telegraph communication system.

<u>He designed the denominated Multiplex Telegraph.</u> It enabled the transmission of messages from train stations and also between moving trains. It allowed to offer safer and better public transportation networks in the US.
