How did the debate over the Bill of Rights influence the rights that were finally included in these ten amendments? Give your re
iris [78.8K]
Jefferson believed that a Bill of Rights was necessary to protect civil liberties and that, without a list of protected rights, the government could abuse its power. As a result, the Bill of Rights protects personal expression and property and legal rights. Madison, on the other hand, thought listing specific rights could ultimately limit the unmentioned rights that also needed to be protected. His concerns were answered by the inclusion of the Ninth and Tenth Amendments, which address the rights not specifically listed in the Constitution.

IF SOMEONE DOESNT HELP ME ISTG
Explain why Egypt was a source of Anglo-French rivalry.
Georgia [21]

Answer:France wanted control of Egypt for two major reasons--its commercial and agricultural potential and its strategic importance to the Anglo-French rivalry. During the eighteenth century, the principal share of European trade with Egypt was handled by French merchants. The French also looked to Egypt as a source of grain and raw materials. In strategic terms, French control of Egypt could be used to threaten British commercial interests in the region and to block Britain's overland route to India.

The French forces took Alexandria without difficulty, defeated the Mamluk army at Shubra Khit and Imbabah, and entered Cairo on July 25. Murad Bey fled to Upper Egypt while Ibrahim Bey and the Ottoman viceroy went to Syria. Mamluk rule in Egypt collapsed.
