Which of these are the two major sources of nitrate pollution in rivers? the burning of fossil fuels by factories and cars anima
Mekhanik [1.2K]

Answer:

animal wastes and fertilizers

Explanation:

The majority of the nitrates that are polluting the rivers come from the animal wastes and from the fertilizers used in the agriculture. The increased amounts of nitrates in the rivers causes eutrophication. This basically means that the water is becoming over-saturated with nutrients. This leads to the spreading out of the algae. As the algae spread out more and more, they cover the surface part of the water, so large portions of the rivers do not receive sunlight, which kills of the organisms that use photosynthesis. Further, the algae reduce the amount of oxygen in the water, often resulting in dying out of the fishes. It is a chain reaction that leads from one thing to another and the end result is devastating.

What are two quantities In a proportional relationship AND what is a proportional relationship?
ankoles [38]

Answer:

Do you have a friend that can affect your mood? Whenever she's up, you're up. When she's down, you're down. A proportional relationship between quantities is a lot like that. For example, imagine a beehive that has a lot of bees in it. Each of those bees has six legs. If I take away half the bees, there will only be half as many legs left in the hive as well. There is a proportional relationship between the number of bees and the number of bee legs in that hive.

A proportional relationship exists between two values x and y when they can be expressed in the general form y = kx, where k is the constant of proportionality.

Our beehive example could be represented by y = 6x, where x is the number of bees, y is the number of legs, and k is 6 (since each bee has 6 legs). If I double x, then y will also double, and if I divide y by x, then y/x should always be 6.

Another way to say that is if two values are proportional, then dividing them by each other will always produce the same ratio. This ratio will be the constant k, which can be expressed as a fraction or a decimal.

I hope this helps :)!

A narrow region between two air masses of different densities is a
Troyanec [42]
A weather front or front is a narrow region between two air masses of different densities. The answer is letter C. Because of the difference in density between warm and cold front, cold air tends to go underneath the warmer air. It often creates the strongest winds above the ground surface. This is caused due to the heat and mass transfer between particles of air. They can be slowed down by the presence of mountains and valleys. Cold air moves fast and the temperature around it can be felt as if you are blown away due to its density. Whereas warm air moves slowly.
