Independent variable (IV) : This is the variable which is varied, they are the two different treatment given to the group of participants. Hence the independent variable (alcohol (vodka) and non-alcohol (water)).
The dependent variable (DV) : variation in response obtained due to changes in the independent variable applied. This is the change in motor skill of participants.
The theory is based on the fact drawn from the research that an individual's motor skills worsens with increased consumption of alcohol.
The hypothesis 'is aimed at establishing that participants in the non-alcohol group will maintain a better balance for a longer period on one foot than those in the alcohol group.
