Read this excerpt from a short story. Then, answer the questions that follow. From the day Danny Bannerman transferred to Spence

rville High School, he was popular with the other students. A talented athlete with a good sense of humor, he immediately became friendly with several boys in his classes and on the sports teams that he joined. The girls flocked around him too, delighted by his good looks and outgoing manner. Nevertheless, though he was friendly enough, Danny never singled out any one girl for special attention. Daniela Marlowe moved to Spencerville a few months after Danny. For her, the transition to a new high school was far more difficult. A smart and sweet-faced girl, she was unfortunately rather shy, drawing little attention from fellow students in such a big school. Moreover, because she had to work part-time to help out at home, she joined no after-school clubs or sports teams where she might find friends. Based on the details in the selection, which of these predictions seems most likely to happen? A. Danny and Daniela will never meet and become friends. B. Danny and Daniela will dislike each other when they meet. C. Daniela will be jealous of Danny and behave spitefully toward him. D. Danny will take a romantic interest in Daniela.

Assuming, that Daniela is same from inside as from outside, she is sweet (from sweet-faced), shy and smart. A smart, shy and sweet person is hardly to be jealous of someone Neither she will be jealous of Danny.
As Danny is always in touch with girls, in a big school there must be more attractive girls than Daniela so he will hardly notice her. but Daniela takes part in sports club so they will meet. they will definitely meet, but for a short time.(Daily).
Now, A is not possible, B is not possible and C can never be possible either.
Danny is clicked by girls, he is friendly,Good in sports, but as he is a good athlete he might not be much good in studies (all-rounders are rare).
But on the other hand Daniela is good in studies and also take part in sports.shy, and finds hard to make friends. It is Said that opp. people complete each other(idk how far it's true). yeah so Danny will be attracted towards Daniela. So according to me, option D has the highest probability.

Answer:

The correct answer is D.

Explanation:

Based on the details provided by this section, one can deduce that this short story will be a romantic one.

It presents the classical theme of "opposites attrack": Danny, the popular boy, who is liked by the boys and wanted by the girls; and Daniela, who is shy and does not have many friends.

Most likely, they will meet by accident and Danny will take a special interest in her because he will deem her to be "not like other girls".

slamgirl [31]

Answer:

Rockets are what carry the payload into space.

Explanation:

Satellites are the main responsible for taking ships and other important equipment into space, leaving them there to promote beneficial actions for human beings. During the space race, it was important to promote equipment that would stay in orbit and allow us some privilege, for this reason, the setelites were so important for that moment, because without them it would be impossible to take this equipment into space, efficiently.

Village life in America and A Confederate Girl’s Diary

Both diaries, Village life in America and A Confederate Girl’s Diary, are very interesting in the way that they are written. Sarah Morgan Dawson and Caroline Cowles Richards both have written about the Civil war, however they have very different perspectives and opinions about it.

Here are some similarities. Both girls were going through a time of war. They both despised the war and wanted it to end as soon as possible. They have both gone through moments of fear and misery, but also happiness and pleasure at sometimes. They have both lost family members and friends that they have loved. Both females were reporting and observing what was happening around them and they were very good writers too. At the end of the war, both Dawson and Richards were very glad the war was over.

There were also a few differences with the two diaries too. The biggest difference is that Richards is on the unions side while Dawson is on the Confederates side. Dawson was devasted at the loss of her side. “Thursday the 13th came the dreadful tidings of the surrender of Lee and his army on the 9th. Everybody cried”. Richards was triumphant at the win of her side. “Lee has surrendered! and all the people seem crazy in consequence. The bells are ringing, boys and girls, men and women are running through the streets wild with excitement”. Finally, Richards seems more like a calm and funny person while Dawson looks for revenge "Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord." This is murder! God have mercy on those who did it!”.

To sum it all up both diaries were very different even though they were written and the same time. Both girls were strong throughout the civil war, though the lost several family members. In the end Richards was very happy that her side won the war while Dawson was devastated at her sides loss.
