1 day = 1/8 of work

B:
1 day = 1/24 of the work

Together:
 1 day = A + B = 1/8 + 1/24 = 4/24 = 1/6

1 day = 1/6 of work
1/6 x 6 of work = 1 x 6 days
work =  6 days
