Since you know the left side, you can set up an equality:
\frac{16}{8} =  \frac{x}{10}

This must be true because of some Triangle Theorem I don't remember, lol. But, then you can just solve for x (I cross multiplied):

\frac{16}{8} = \frac{x}{10}
160=8x

Simplify:
x =  \frac{160}{8}  = 20

So, the answer is D. You can use many other ways too. But this is a clear way that your teacher probably taught you.

circle q is centered at the origin with radius r point p(xy)lies on circle q make conjecture how can you find an equation relati
babunello [35]

Answer:

[tex]x^{2} +y^{2}=r^{2}[/tex]

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that the center-radius form of the circle equation is in the format (x – h)2 + (y – k)2 = r2, with the center being at the point (h, k) and the radius being "r".

As given the center of circle q is origin ie,(0,0);

h=0  and k=0

Now substitute the point P in the equation of the circle as it lies on it.

(x-0)^{2}+(y-0)^{2}=r^{2}

x^{2}+y^{2}=r^{2}

In 1955, a magazine reported that women worked, on average, 80 hours per week. Recently, research has been investigating whether
laiz [17]
<h2>Answer with explanation:</h2>

Let \mu be the population mean.

As per given we have,

H_0:\mu=80\\\\ H_a:\mu>80 , since alternative hypothesis is right tailed , so the test is a right-tailed test.

Test statistic : z=\dfrac{\overline{x}-\mu}{\dfrac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}}

For, n=80 \sigma=12,\ \overline{x}=80 , we have

z=\dfrac{83-80}{\dfrac{12}{\sqrt{80}}}\approx2.236

Critical z-value at \alpha=0.05 =1.645

Since the test statistic value is greater than the critical z-value, so we reject the null hypothesis, i.e. alternative hypothesis is accepted.

Conclusion: We have enough evidence to support the claim that the mean work week has increased for women at the 5% level.
