Explanation:

Drought is a natural calamity in which the region receives very little or no rainfall. As a result of this the region experience dry and hot climatic condition. The water bodies of the region get wiped up. The soil of the region becomes infertile and compact. The condition of drought is caused by a drastic change in the water vapor.

As the water cycle is affected this will result in accumulation of less groundwater in a region. As in the absence of rainfall and drainage of water from the water body no water will accumulate at the ground level.
