The answer to the question about the Underground Railroad is explained below.

Explanation:

Underground Railroad was established in the early to mid 19th century. Underground Railroad was basically a network of secret routes. These routes were used by the African American enslaved people. The enslaved African American used these secret paths, called Underground Railroad, to escape to the free states and Canada.

The name, Underground Railroad, is just a symbolic representation, otherwise there was no such underground routes or even railroads. The who network was working secretly, so it was named as underground, and because people were escaping through certain paths, it was called as railroads.

There were hiding places for the people as well, like private homes, churches, schools, which were called as Stations, and the people who helped the slaves were called Conductors.

Free_Kalibri [48]

The correct answers are B) bring people together at a social event C) to be amusing and D) convince the audience to support a cause.

Entertaining speech is used for these purposes:  bring people together at a social event, to be amusing and convince the audience to support a cause.

The purpose of this kind of speech is so simple: to amuse and entertain your audience. To convey an idea in a funny way so it could be clearly understood and accepted. So if you are attending a fundraising event where they are going to ask for your help and money, what a better way to do it with class, in a funny and amicable way.

storchak [24]
The correct answer is B)answer questions about U.S. history and government. To become a naturalized citizen of the United States and to obtain an American passport, there are a set of rules and regulations to follow. One of them is learning history and government questions about the United States. This is usually given to applicants through a CD to which they can listen to, learn and practice in the weeks coming before the test. Most prospective citizens who speak English, but also who do not are equally given a language test to see how good their proficiency in English is. This is a relatively long process, but once people pass they receive an American passport, as well as a green card.

How did slaves feel about the declaration of dependence ?
sineoko [7]

Answer:

Thomas Jefferson helped to create a new nation based on individual freedom and self-government.  His words in the Declaration of Independence expressed the aspirations of the new nation. But the Declaration did not extend “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness” to African Americans, indentured servants, or women. Twelve of the first eighteen American presidents owned slaves. Thomas Jefferson drafted the Declaration and called slavery an “abominable crime,” yet he was a lifelong slaveholder. Fearful of dividing the fragile new nation, Jefferson and other founders who opposed slavery did not insist on abolishing it. It took 87 more years―and the Civil War, the Emancipation Proclamation, and the 13th Amendment―to end slavery.
