Eleanor Gibson and Richard Walk are both <u><em>Psychologists</em></u> that started to study and design experiments based on depth perception in infants. They wanted to figure out whether we are born with depth perception or we learn it. To figure this out they created a cliff simulation to put this theory to the test. After conducting the experiments they observed what was stated in the question. Since younger infants were not afraid of the cliff simulation but older infants were then we can say that fear of depth requires learning and experience.
