Compare the two linear functions. A 2-column table with 5 rows. Column 1 is labeled x with entries negative 3, negative 1, 2, 5,
labwork [276]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

the table :

(-3,8.5) .....x1 = -3 and y1 = 8.5

(-1,5.5) ....x2 = -1 and y2 = 5.5

slope = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1) = (5.5 - 8.5) / (-1 - (-3) = - 3 / (-1 + 3) = -3/2

coordinate plane :

(-3,0), (2,0)

notice how u have the same y values of 0....this means u have a horizontal line where no matter what x is, y will always be 0. A horizontal line has a slope of 0. And ur y intercept is (0,0)

the linear function that is in the table contains a negative slope and also has a steeper slope then the one on the coordinate plane <===

zimovet [89]
In this case there will be 2 solutions to solve for in this equation, both will equal plus and minus the answer. Which is 14.

6(3x + 5) = +_ 14

The solutions will be the following :

1) How many 3/4 does it take to make 9/2?

     Now look at this, 3/4 x 6 = 4 1/2.  4 1/2 is the same as 9/2

   3/4 + 3/4 + 3/4 + 3/4 + 3/4 + 3/4 ---> takes 6, 3/4's to make 9/2

2)  How many 3/4's go into 9/2?

    This is the same question as the 1st one so the answer is 6 :)

3)  9/2 divided by 3/4 = ??

         Use the KEEP< CHANGE< FLIP method, so it turns into  I
                                                                                                    I
                                                                                                    I
                                                                                                    I
      9/2 x 4/3                       < -------------------------------------          I

  This is equal to 36/6 which is 6 :)

The answer is 6 for numbers 1, 2, and 3 :)
