She won 55 electoral votes

Electoral votes are based on the number of representatives which is based on the popular vote and decided by the census which is conducted every 10 years. You add two more to that number which comes from the senate people since there's 2 people for every state in the senate, and for California it brings it to 55 electoral votes overall.

What are your takeaways from the Constitutional Convention? Free write a paragraph about what stands out to you, what was good/b
Delvig [45]

Answer

The Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia convened 55 representatives from 12 states. It was charged with revising or replacing the Articles of Confederation, which had served as the framework for governance since the American Revolution against Britain. The convention decided on a bicameral legislature and population-based representation.

The Three-Fifths Compromise was one of the most infamous provisions of the Constitution. It established a ratio of 3 to 5 of enslaved men and women in the House of Representatives for representation and taxes purposes. The document's ratification faced the most serious opposition from the larger states of Massachusetts, New York, and Virginia.

I believe that much of this was unnecessary and could have been handled more effectively. Rather than enslave, we should cooperate. If someone is unwilling to cooperate with you, there may be an issue with the way you conduct business.
