slamgirl [31]
This is true. Nobody like Napoleon so they didn't respect his Continental System and they kept trading with Britain. Napoleon tried to invade Russia because of this but he failed and had to retreat, like most people who tried to invade Russia did. This was just one of the many reasons that led to his downfall.

Read the statement from Leonid Brezhnev.
Evgesh-ka [11]

Correct answer:

- To intervene, if necessary, in support of other communist governments.

An example of this approach by Brezhnev can be seen in what happened in Czechoslovakia in 1968. Czechoslovakia's new leader, Alexander Dubcek, promoted reforms, and the people began to move away from communism. This became known as the "Prague Spring." Seeing these actions as a threat to continued communist controlled, Brezhnev responded with force. He sent 600,000 Soviet troops and put down any movement of revolution against communism in Czechoslovakia.

Why are most laws based on the wishes of the majority
saw5 [17]

Answer:

Because if let's say there are 20 kids in a class and the teacher tells everyone to choose between 2 options for a school trip, the first is a museum and the second is a park. So the kids vote for the trip and 29 choose the park, but 1 choose the museum. More kids want to go to the park and if the teacher picked the museum because only 1 kid voted for it, it wouldn't be fair. The majority wins over the minority because more people want something than the minority does. Think about what would happen if the minority would win, let's say a minority of people want to ban all puppies. Would that be fair to the majority who love puppies?
