A tiger looks so much different as an adult than it did as a single fertilized egg because it developed through different stages from being a zygote (fertilized egg), to becoming an embryo (where it experiences intense cellular changes), to becoming a fetus (where it gains a great measure of cell specialization, and develops distinct tissues and organ systems). After birth, the tiger still undergoes further growth and development into adulthood. This is largely regulated by the expression of different genes at different times and also by environmental factors.

A tiger looks differently from the way it looked as a single cell because the cells split and make new cells, causing the life form to grow in size. Along with these cells come more genes, each varying due to purpose. To think, that a fully grown tiger started as a single cell, and is now much larger.

What are convergent boundaries?
boyakko [2]

Answer:

Explanation:

A convergent boundary (also known as a destructive boundary) is an area on Earth where two or more lithospheric plates collide. One plate eventually slides beneath the other, a process known as subduction. The subduction zone can be defined by a plane where many earthquakes occur, called the Wadati–Benioff zone.[1] These collisions happen on scales of millions to tens of millions of years and can lead to volcanism, earthquakes, orogenesis, destruction of lithosphere, and deformation. Convergent boundaries occur between oceanic-oceanic lithosphere, oceanic-continental lithosphere, and continental-continental lithosphere. The geologic features related to convergent boundaries vary depending on crust types.

Plate tectonics is driven by convection cells in the mantle. Convection cells are the result of heat generated by radioactive decay of elements in the mantle escaping to the surface and the return of cool materials from the surface to the mantle.[2] These convection cells bring hot mantle material to the surface along spreading centers creating new crust. As this new crust is pushed away from the spreading center by the formation of newer crust, it cools, thins, and becomes denser. Subduction begins when this dense crust converges with less dense crust. The force of gravity helps drive the subducting slab into the mantle.[3] As the relatively cool subducting slab sinks deeper into the mantle, it is heated, causing hydrous minerals to break down. This releases water into the hotter asthenosphere, which leads to partial melting of asthenosphere and volcanism. Both dehydration and partial melting occurs along the 1,000 °C (1,830 °F) isotherm, generally at depths of 65 to 130 km (40 to 81 mi).[4][5]

Some lithospheric plates consist of both continental and oceanic lithosphere. In some instances, initial convergence with another plate will destroy oceanic lithosphere, leading to convergence of two continental plates. Neither continental plate will subduct. It is likely that the plate may break along the boundary of continental and oceanic crust. Seismic tomography reveals pieces of lithosphere that have broken off during convergence

The reaction shown in the question is an inversion reaction.

The conversion of maltose to glucose is an inversion reaction. An inversion reaction is said to have occurred when the atoms and groups in a molecule are rearranged. The numbers and type of each atom in a molecule remains the same.

The reaction; Maltose +A -> Glucose + B is an example of an inversion reaction. The missing items A and B are both the catalyst maltase.

4. If one individual is Tt and another individual is tt, which of the following is true?
boyakko [2]
Tt is a genotype different than tt. The first one has two different alleles (T and t) the second one has one kind of alleles (t).

The fenotype of Tt is given by the dominant character (which is the capitalized one, T) while the fenotype of tt is t (because it is the only one).

Then, there are two different genotypes and two differente phenotypes.

Answer: The two have different genotypes and different phenotypes.

The energy needed to "pump" sodium outside the cell in active transport is _____.
dolphi86 [110]

Adenosine triphosphate (also called ATP) is used by the cell as fuel to pump sodium out of the cell during the process of active transport. It carries energy to the areas of the body where it is needed. It is necessary for many of the cell's functions and is an important part of metabolism.
