Answer:

You see, if one person smokes everyone around them smokes. It doesn't matter if your not holding the cigarette it is basically like your smoking too. If you have a multi person family and one person smokes it effects the others in the family just as much as the smoker. Smoking puts so many people at risk. Both children and adults are at risk for a long list of chronic and fatal diseases. Even if you dont believe in second hand smoking you know it can still cause cancer to you. I want you to take a minuet and ask yourself would you give someone you care about deeply cancer?

Explanation:

You see if one-person smokes, everyone in your surroundings will smoke, regardless of whether they are the one holding the cigarette or even in the same building. In a multifamily building, the families with nonsmokers are affected just as much as the ones that have smokers in them. Smoking puts those people at so many risks. Children and adults are at risk for a list of chronic and fatal diseases. So if you don't think secondhand smoke will give your loved ones the "unheard of' diseases," you now know that it can cause cancer. Would you really put your loved one's at risk for getting cancer or even death just for a second of euphoria?

What is the primary function of a subordinating conjunction
nirvana33 [79]

Answer:

The subordinate conjunction has two jobs. First, it provides a necessary transition between the two ideas in the sentence. This transition will indicate a time, place, or cause and effect relationship. Here are some examples:

Louisa will wash the sink full of her dirty dishes once her roommate Shane cleans his stubble and globs of shaving cream from the bathroom sink.

We looked on top of the refrigerator, where Jenny will often hide a bag of chocolate chip cookies.

Because her teeth were chattering in fear, Lynda clenched her jaw muscle while waiting for her turn to audition.

S_A_V [24]

This question is missing the options and is, therefore, incomplete. I've found the complete question online. It is the following:

Read the two excerpts about Pilar from Dreaming in Cuban.

Excerpt 1: They called me brujita, little witch. I stared at them, tried to make them go away.

Excerpt 2: Another woman, an elderly mulatta, claimed that her hair was falling out from the menacing stares the baby gave her.

Which statement is the best synthesis for the two excerpts?

A. Most Cuban women rely on the services of nannies when raising their children.

B. Supernatural experiences are frequently dismissed as being coincidental in Cuban culture.

C. Inexplicable events are sometimes interpreted as supernatural experiences in Cuban culture.

D. Many Cuban children remember the earliest events of their childhood.

Answer:

The statement which is the best synthesis for the two excerpts is:

C. Inexplicable events are sometimes interpreted as supernatural experiences in Cuban culture.

Explanation:

"Dreaming in Cuban" is a novel by author Cristina García. It features three generations of a single family and the plot moves between the United States and Cuba. The two excerpts we are analyzing here show how superstition can play an important role in some countries' cultures. Both of them represent how inexplicable events are sometimes interpreted as supernatural experiences in Cuban culture. Pilar is called by others a "little witch", and she tries to make them go away just with her stare. Besides that, a woman attributes her hair loss to the way a baby stares at her. Instead of trying to find plausible and realistic explanations for events, people seem to just assume, superstitiously.
