C) the Cuban government became more closely aligned with Soviet Union

Explanation:

 • The disastrous American invasion of the Bay of Pigs in Cuba began on April 17, 1961. The Bay of Pigs is a sea bay on the southern coast of Cuba. The US plan was to land Cuban emigrants trained by the CIA for war there, after which they should launch a civil war and overthrow Castro's power in Cuba.
 • Specifically, US-Cuban tensions began when Castro overthrew General Batista's regime on January 1, 1959. The US administration estimated that Castro was increasingly turning to the Communists, and they could not tolerate it in their neighborhood. About 1,400 emigrants were landed.
 • The Cubans resisted the invasion, including the famous Che Guevara, and in just three days managed to completely defeat the invaders. For Americans, it was a great defeat and a national embarrassment, and the result was Castro's complete turn to the USSR.

How was Calvin Coolidge’s attitude toward business
kati45 [8]

"... the chief business of the American people is business." he once said.

Coolidge followed a laissez-faire economic policy, whereby the government doesn't interfere in the national economy unless absolutely necessary, and even then its actions should be limited to gentle nudges to get the economy back on track rather than large scale intervention.

So, Coolidge's attitude toward business was 'if it's not broken, don't fix it' - leave business alone to prosper.

According to harriet robinson, what was the most surprising thing to the public about the strike? the strike was successful. a w
anyanavicka [17]

The young female workers moved on strike (they called it “turning out” then) to protest the decline in wages and increase in rent.

Why was the strike surprised to workers?

According to Harriet Robinson, the unexpected thing about the strike was that it generated surprise and confusion among employees.

 • Some employees stood ready to go on strike, while others liked to continue operating in mills.
 • The first strike happened in the cotton mills of Lowell, Massachusetts where there existed an announcement that workers' earnings will be deducted.
 • The Lowell Mills was a textile factory in the United States where young women existed hired to work.
 • The Lowell mill stood worse as women stood forced to work in poor situations with noise, confinement, and lint-filled air.
 • It evolved essentially to go on a strike as their salaries were cut down.

Therefore we can deduce that the strike played a crucial role among workers through which they required their wages and better conditions in factories.
