You can identify the slope which is done by calculating it between two points of the line using the formula which everyone know is y2--y1 and x2--x1

Or you can find the Y intercept which you substitute the slope and the coordinates you have of a point.

Solve the equation. –3x + 9 = –3(2x + 3) + 3(x – 4) + 1 How many solutions does this equation have? one solution two solutions i
gavmur [86]

-3x+9 = -3(2x+3) + 3(x-4)+1

distribute

-3x+9 =-6x-9+3x-12+1

add like terms

-3x+9= -3x-20

add 3x to each side

9 = -20

there are no solutions because 9 does not equal -20

X²+8x-84=0 <br><br>Formúla General
Brums [2.3K]

Answer:

                x_{1} =-14\\\\x_{2} =6

Step-by-step explanation:

x^{2} +8x-84=0\\\\x=\dfrac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^{2}-4ac } }{2a} \\\\a=1; \: \: b=8; \: \: c=-84\\\\x=\dfrac{-8 \pm \sqrt{8^{2}-4 \cdot 1 \cdot (-84) } }{2 \cdot 1}=\dfrac{-8 \pm \sqrt{400 } }{2}=\dfrac{-8 \pm20}{2} =-4 \pm 10\\\\x_{1} =-14\\\\x_{2} =6

3. Find the value of a and b when<br>5+√6/5-√6 = a+b√6
mr Goodwill [35]

The answer for A is,

a = 5 +  \frac{ \sqrt{6} }{ \sqrt{5} }  -  \sqrt{6}  -  \sqrt{6b}

And the answer for B is,

b = - 1 +  \frac{5 +  \frac{ \sqrt{6} }{ \sqrt{5} } - a  }{  \sqrt{6} }

hope it helps.

sorry of its wrong.

Mark thinks the equation y=6x+4 will match the red solid graph. Mia thinks it will match the blue dotted graph. Who’s right? Exp
Rudiy27

Answer:

Technically neither, but Mia is correct.

Step-by-step explanation:

Slope-Intercept Form: y = mx + b

Since our slope <em>m</em> is equal to 6, it is a positive number. That means that the slope/line will be positive, so the line should be going up, not down. That means the blue line would be correct. Therefore, Mia is correct.

Technicality:

Since the blue line is dotted, the equation should be a <em>inequality </em>and not a linear equation. No solutions on the line would technically work. If the equation was y < 6x + 4 or something with an inequality sign, then it would be correct.
