Answer:

1- The Writs of Assistance prevented smuggling.

2- Both Thomas Paine and Samuel Adams wrote in support of the Revolutionary cause.

Explanation:

1- The Writ of Assistance, a general warrant for search or hand-waving, is a privileged procedure instituted in England since the 1650s under Oliver Cromwell, according to which the customs officers had the right of search everywhere in Britain and its colonies for contrabanded goods.

In the 1760s, which saw the creation of the Sugar Act after the Seven Years' War, London decided to activate this procedure. It was to resist the Writs of Assistance that the traders of Boston, big importers of molasses of Santo Domingo for their distilleries, recruited in 1761 the public prosecutor James Otis to attack this procedure justice, which led to a progressive criticism English protectionism strong enough to trigger the American war of independence.

2- Thomas Paine was an American politician, writer, philosopher, radical intellectual and revolutionary, promoter of liberalism and democracy. His main contributions were the widely read Common Sense essay (1776), where he advocated the independence of the colonies and The American crisis (1776-1783) a series of writings in favor of the revolution.

Samuel Adams was a great promoter of American independence, and possibly due to him the Boston Tea Party, which fought to overthrow the tea monopoly held by the British metropolis, took place. His persecution gave rise to the first skirmish of the War of Independence, and Samuel Adams rendered valiant service to the cause of the rebel colonies.

iogann1982 [59]

Answer:

The Battle of Honey Springs is considered to be the most important battle fought in the Indian Territory during the Civil War. It was largest military clash in the Indian Territory and marked the beginning of the end of Confederate control in the Indian Territory. General Cooper was amassing his army at the Confederate commissary depot at Honey Springs. General Blunt and his Union troops intercepted Cooper’s army on July 17, 1863. Blunt was worried about the growing Confederate threat at Honey Springs and decided to attack first. The First Kansas Colored Volunteer Infantry Regiment prevented the advance of the Texas army with their sharpshooting. The Confederates had faulty gunpowder from Mexico, while the Union had more cannons and better artillery. This battle was significant because the Confederates lost control of the Indian Territory north of the Arkansas River and the Union gained an easy route to Fort Smith.

What was the goal of The Kellogg-Briand Pact?
Rasek [7]
The goal of the Kellogg-Briand Pact was for the signing nations to use war as a last resort. This was an international agreement reached in 1928 and evidently this was not taken too seriously since World War II ensued. It was signed by Germany, France and the United States and was then soon followed by a number of countries. There were a number of states who signed it, included countries which would not be seen as being in the western world.
