I did 720,000 divided by 1/3 (because 1 out of 3 babies are expected to live to 100, it'd be 1/3 of 720,000) and got 240,000. That means that out of 720,000 , 240,000 babies are expected to live up to 100 years old.

Hope this helps! :)

Find the derivative of f(x) = 2x^2 - 4x +3
ivolga24 [154]

Explanation

2x^2-4x+3

When taking derivatives of polynomials, we primarily make use of the power rule.

Power rule.

\begin{gathered} f(x)=x^n \\ \text{then} \\ f^{\prime}(x)=nx^{n-1} \end{gathered}

also, the derivate of a sum is the sum of the derivates

hence

\begin{gathered} g(x)=f(x)+h(x)+\ldots z(x) \\ g^{\prime}(x)=f^{\prime}(x)+h^{\prime}(x)+\ldots.z^{\prime}(x) \end{gathered}

Step 1

apply:

\begin{gathered} f(x)=2x^2-4x+3 \\ f^{\prime}(x)=2\cdot2x^{2-1}-4(1)x^{1-1}+ \\ f^{\prime}(x)=4x^{}-4(1)x^0+3^0 \\ f^{\prime}(x)=4x^{}-4(1)(1) \\ f^{\prime}(x)=4z-4 \end{gathered}

therefore, the answer is

What is the definition of math?
MAVERICK [17]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

In simpler words mathematics is the study of numbers , quantities, or shapes.

It is the science of structure, order, and relation that has evolved from elemental practices of counting, measuring, and describing the shapes of objects. It deals with logical reasoning and quantitative calculation, and its development has involved an increasing degree of idealization and abstraction of its subject matter.

Math is all around us, in everything we do. It is the building block for everything in our daily lives, including mobile devices, architecture (ancient and modern), art, money, engineering, and even sports...
