Answer:

She consumes 30 blue ray disk and 60 DVD respectively.

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the provided information.

U(x,y)=10x^2y

Calculate marginal utility of good

Differentiate with respect of x and y.

MU_x=20xy

MU_y=10x^2

Her consumption of Blu-ray disks (X) with a price of $40 and Y is her consumption of DVDs with a price of $10.

The ratio of marginal utility of good x to y is equal to the price ratio:

\frac{MU_x}{MU_y}=\frac{P_x}{P_y}

Substitute the respective values.

\frac{20xy}{10x^2}=\frac{40}{10}

\frac{2y}{x}=4

2y=4x

y=2x

She has $1800 with which to spend on the two goods.

Her consumption of Blu-ray disks (X) with a price of $40 and Y is her consumption of DVDs with a price of $10. She has $1800 with which to spend on the two goods.

Therefore, 40x+10y=1800

4x+y=180

Substitute the value of y in above equation.

4x+2x=180

6x=180

x=30

Thus, y=60

She consumes 30 blue ray disk and 60 DVD respectively.

An artist builds a sculpture out of metal and wood that weighs 14.9 kilograms. 3/4 of this weight is metal and the rest is wood.
Troyanec [42]

Answer:

Given is a sculpture that is built up of metal and wood, and the weight of this sculpture is 14.9 kilograms.

It says that three-fourth of the total weight is metal and says to find the weight of wooden part.

We can find the weight of metal part and then subtract it from the total weight to calculate the answer.

Total weight = 14.9 kilograms.

Metal part = three-fourth of total weight =

Wooden part = 14.9 - 11.175 = 3.725 kilograms.

Hence, the wooden part is 3.725 kilograms.

The mayor of a town has proposed a plan for the construction of a new bridge. A political study took a sample of 1200 voters in
Kipish [7]

Answer: H_0:p\leq0.53

H_a:p>0.53

Step-by-step explanation:

Claim :  A a political strategist wants to test the claim that the percentage of residents who favor construction is more than 53%.

Let 'p' be the percentage of residents who favor construction .

Claim : p> 0.53

We know that the null hypothesis has equal sign.

Therefore , the null hypothesis for the given situation will be opposite to the given claim will be :-

H_0:p\leq0.53

And the alternative hypothesis must be :-

H_a:p>0.53

Thus, the null hypothesis and the alternative hypothesis for this test :

H_0:p\leq0.53

H_a:p>0.53
