An office assistant has 7 reams of paper in stock. Each ream contains 500 sheets. He needs to have 16 copies of a report printed

. Each report is 355 pages long. How many additional reams of paper must he purchase in order to have enough paper to print the reports?nts, what is the chance that any single department is chosen for auditing in a given week?

Answer:

Almost 5 reams of paper will be needed.

Step-by-step explanation:

Number of reams = 7

Each reams have pages = 500

Total pages he has = 7* 500 = 3500

Number of reports = 16

Pages each report has = 355

Total pages to be printed = 16* 355 = 5,680

Pages to be purchased = 5,680 - 3500

Pages to be purchased = 2,180

For calculating number of reams to be purchased, divide the number of pages with 500 as follows

Number of reams needed = 2,180/500

Number of reams needed = 4.36

As 4 reams will not be enough so he has to buy 5 reams i order to have required printing.

I hope it will help You!

In this item, we are asked to determine or calculate for the distance between the points A (1,4) and B(-3,-2)

The distance between the two points can be computed through the equation below.
             d = sqrt ((x₂ - x₁)² + (y₂ - y₁)³)
We can choice whichever of the two points will have the first abscissa or the first ordinate. For the purpose of showing the solution here, it is assumed that A has the coordinates of (x₁,y₁) and B (x₂,y₂)

Substituting,
          d = sqrt ((-3 - 1)² + (-2 -4)²)
          d = 2√13

Find the equation of ellipse passing throgh (1,4) and (-3,2)
irinina [24]

Answer:

\displaystyle  \frac{  {3x}^{2} }{ 35 }  +  \frac{{2y}^{2} }{  35  }   = 1

Step-by-step explanation:

we want to figure out the ellipse equation which passes through <u>(</u><u>1</u><u>,</u><u>4</u><u>)</u><u> </u>and <u>(</u><u>-</u><u>3</u><u>,</u><u>2</u><u>)</u>

the standard form of ellipse equation is given by:

\displaystyle  \frac{(x - h {)}^{2} }{ {a}^{2} }  +  \frac{(y - k {)}^{2} }{ {b}^{2} }  = 1

where:

  • (h,k) is the centre
  • a is the horizontal redius
  • b is the vertical radius

since the centre of the equation is not mentioned, we'd assume it (0,0) therefore our equation will be:

\displaystyle  \frac{  {x}^{2} }{ {a}^{2} }  +  \frac{{y}^{2} }{ {b}^{2} }  = 1

substituting the value of x and y from the point (1,4),we'd acquire:

\displaystyle  \frac{ 1}{ {a}^{2} }  +  \frac{16}{ {b}^{2} }  = 1

similarly using the point (-3,2), we'd obtain:

\displaystyle  \frac{ 9}{ {a}^{2} }  +  \frac{4 }{ {b}^{2} }  = 1

let 1/a² and 1/b² be q and p respectively and transform the equation:

\displaystyle  \begin{cases} q  +  16p  = 1  \\ 9q + 4p = 1 \end{cases}

solving the system of linear equation will yield:

\displaystyle  \begin{cases} q   =  \dfrac{3}{35} \\ \\  p =  \dfrac{2}{35}  \end{cases}

substitute back:

\displaystyle  \begin{cases}  \dfrac{1}{ {a}^{2} }   =  \dfrac{3}{35} \\ \\   \dfrac{1}{ {b}^{2} }  =  \dfrac{2}{35}  \end{cases}

divide both equation by 1 which yields:

\displaystyle  \begin{cases}  {a}^{2}   =  \dfrac{35}{ 3} \\ \\    {b}^{2}   =  \dfrac{35}{2}  \end{cases}

substitute the value of a² and b² in the ellipse equation , thus:

\displaystyle  \frac{  {x}^{2} }{  \dfrac{35}{3}  }  +  \frac{{y}^{2} }{  \dfrac{35}{2}  }   = 1

simplify complex fraction:

\displaystyle  \frac{  {3x}^{2} }{ 35 }  +  \frac{{2y}^{2} }{  35  }   = 1

and we're done!

For every 1 litre of water used to make a medicine, 269ml of sucrose and 47ml of saline solution are used. Express the amount of
leonid [27]

Answer:

1000 : 269 : 47

Step-by-step explanation:

A ratio is a way of comparing the value or amount of one quantity to another.

We are to find the ration of water to sucrose to saline solution, hence, it must remain in that order.

Water : Sucrose : Saline solution

The amount of water is 1 litre (1 * 1000 ml = 1000 ml)

The amount of sucrose is 269 ml

The amount of saline solution is 47 ml

Therefore, the ratio of water to sucrose to saline solution is:

W : S : SS = 1000 : 269 : 47

Since 1000, 269 and 47 have no common factors, that is the simplest form of the ratio.

What is: 7m+(-5)=180
Virty [35]

Answer:

m = 7 / 185 or 26.42857

Step-by-step explanation:

7m - 5 = 180 add 5

7m = 185 divide 7

m = 7 / 185 or 26.42857 (and so on; just estimate it)
