Answer:

According to Hardy Weinberg law (p+q)2=1 where p is fequency of one allele and q is the frequency of another allele.

Explanation:

According the question

 q represent the short legs and 33 of 100 organism have short legs.

    As a result the frequency of q with respect to the 100 organism is 33/100

                                                                                                                   =0.33

Therefore q=0.33

     we all know that

                   (p+q)2=1

              ∴  p+q= 1

              ∴  p=1-q

                   p= 1-0.33

                    p=0.67

The frequency of p is 0.67

In an isolated population of 10,000 rabbits, 900 are homozygous for a recessive mutant Sp1 allele. Assuming the population is in
Nonamiya [84]

42% of rabbits in the population are heterozygous for the mutant Sp1 allele

Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium

  • Assume that p is the frequency of the dominant allele
  • p² is the frequency of the organisms with homozygous dominant genotype
  • Assume that q is the frequency of the recessive allele
  • q² is the frequency of the organisms with homozygous recessive genotype
  • 2pq is the frequency of the organisms with heterozygous genotype
  • p+q = 1

According to the question, 900 out of 10000 rabbits are homozygous recessive

  • This implies that q² = 900/10000= 9/100= 0.09
  • So, q = 0.3
  • The frequency of the recessive allele is 0.3
  • p = 1-q = 1-0.3= 0.7

For organisms with heterogenous genotype, their frequency is 2pq

2pq= 2 x 0.3 x 0.7 = 0.42

In terms of percentage, 0.42x 100% = 42%

Therefore, 42% of rabbits in the population are heterozygous for the mutant Sp1 allele.

Type I alveolar cells:
liraira [26]

Answer:

The correct option is: e. Both B and D

Explanation:

Type I alveolar cells are the thin squamous epithelial cells that lines the alveolar surface of the pulmonary alveoli.

These cells are involved in the gas exchange process. The thin lining of the type I alveolar cells, allows the rapid diffusion of gas and thus enabling the exchange of gases between the blood present in the capillaries and the air present in the pulmonary alveoli.
