Currently, the issue of land in foreign hands is a problem. There was a neo-liberal macroeconomic environment that facilitated, stimulated and promoted great investment, also to foreign capital, while on the other hand it practically marginalized everything that is family farming, which is overwhelmingly majority in Latin America. Besides that it is usual, that near the lands that are sold to international figures or multinational companies, there are people or families marginalized from society living there, without having another place to live because of the economic conditions in which they are. Then, with that inability to move to another sector, they are highly harmed by the agrochemicals that are applied in these fields, mostly toxic, which later have a negative impact on their health.
