La muerte de Cristo expió nuestros pecados y restauró nuestra relación de justicia con Dios , que el pecado rompió . El Padre puso nuestros pecados sobre él , y Cristo sufrió la maldición justa de la ley contra el pecado en vez de nosotros . Esta maldición es que uno debe morir por sus pecados , «porque la paga del pecado es muerte» .
