Which of the following statements about breastfeeding is TRUE? For reasons that are not entirely clear, women who are overweight

or obese appear to initiate and maintain breastfeeding at higher rates than women of normal weight. Breastfed newborns typically require more frequent feedings than formula-fed infants. In the United States and Canada, HIV-positive women are encouraged to breastfeed. Environmental contaminants such as pesticide residues do not pass from a lactating mother into her breast milk.

Answer:

Breastfed newborns typically require more frequent feedings than formula-fed infants.

Explanation:

It's worthy to note that Breastfed babies do require more breastmilk or food intake intake often than babies who are formula fed, because breast milk undergoes digestion at a quicker rate than formula. In layman terms, mom might need to breastfeed every 2 or 3 hours (it maybe more, maybe less) during first few weeks.

a reessive allele on the x chromosome is responsible for red-green color blindness in humans. a woman with normal vision whose f
Ray Of Light [21]

Answer:

50%

Explanation:

Let the allele for red-green color blindness be represented by c.

Normal vision woman whose father is color-blind will be X^CX^c

Color-blind male will be X^cY

X^CX^c x X^cY

Progeny: X^CX^c, X^CY, X^cX^c, X^cY (See the attached image)

Out of the 2 male progeny, 1 is affected for color-blindness while the other is not affected. This gives a 50% probability that a son of the couple will be color-blind.

Why is acetylcholine broken down?
Aneli [31]

Acetylcholine broken down is the process by which this neurotransmitter activates a suitable ligand-receptor to trigger a cell signaling pathway.

What is Acetylcholine?

Acetylcholine is a chemical messenger (i.e., a neurotransmitter) that is used to transmit signals inside the body.

Acetylcholine broken down is due to its hydrolysis, which ends cell signaling between brain synapses.

In conclusion, Acetylcholine broken down is the process by which this neurotransmitter activates a suitable ligand-receptor to trigger a cell signaling pathway.

Feather color in budgies is determined by two different genes, Y for pigment on the outside of the feather, and B for pigment on
Anvisha [2.4K]

Answer:

The two blue budgies are most likely to be yyBb each

Explanation:

there are 3 different scenarios possible for crossing blue budgies:

1) yyBB crossed with yyBB

this is not possible because it does not allow for the genotype yybb (white budgies)

2) yyBB crossed with yyBb

again, this cross will not yield the genotype yybb required for white budgies as given in the problem statement

3) yyBb crossed with yyBb

which leaves us with this option being most likely the genotype of the parent budgies who will have white budgies as offspring

Hope that answers the question, have a great day!

HELP PLEASE
Alenkinab [10]
I think the answer would be B but none of them are great. Continental drift is the gradual movement of our land masses. Knowing this we can eliminate option D because it identifies buildings as a cause. A and C both discuss climate change which is not a product of continents moving. The elimination leaves option B however because these changes would occur gradually, it is unlikely that species would become invasive.
