$550/people = price per person

550/25= $22 per person

550/50= $11 per person

25 people would be attending the party then it would 22 dollars per person... if 50 people were to attend the party then each person would pay 11 dollars... and if 55 people were attending the party then each individual would only pay 10 dollars.

Peter is placing a rectangle in the coordinate plane. He knows that the shorter side of the rectangle is one-third the length of
katrin [286]

Answer:

(0,a)

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

x-------> the length side of the rectangle

y------> the width side of the rectangle

we know that

y=\frac{1}{3}x ---> equation A

x=3a ---> equation B (given problem)

substitute equation B in equation A

y=\frac{1}{3}3a=a

so

the coordinate of the top-left vertex of the rectangle is equal to

(0,a)

which of the following expresses the coordinates of the foci of the conic section shown below? (x-2)^2/4+(y+5)^2/9
elena55 [62]

Step-by-step explanation:

\frac{(x - 2) {}^{2} }{4}  +  \frac{(y + 5) {}^{2} }{9}  = 1

This is the equation of the ellipse. Since the denominator is greater for the y values, we have a vertical ellipse. Remember a>b, so a

The formula for the foci of the vertical ellipse is

(h,k+c) and (h,k-c).

where c is

Our center (h,k) is (2, -5)

{c}^{2}  =  {a}^{2}  -  {b}^{2}

Here a^2 is 9, b^2 is 4.

{c}^{2}  = 9 - 4

{c}^{2}  = 5

c =  \sqrt{5}

So our foci is

(2, - 5 +  \sqrt{5} )

and

(2, - 5 -  \sqrt{5} )
