The discovery of veterinarian medicine in an accident by Dr. Steele was the most important historical aspect that affected the development of veterinary science.

Dr. James Law was the first American veterinary professor and Dr. Steele after Dr. James death embodied his vision. Dr. Steele is known as the "father of veterinary public health".  Before the discovery of veterinarian medicine, Steele was very conscious about his career but after the discovery he persuaded PhD and  spend his life and career in  understanding of the connections between human and animal health.

His  research and studies inspired many more to pursue career in veterinary science.
