In what ways were the French Revolution similar and different from the American revolution

Both the French and American Revolution began with a king that the country was tired of. Although, the colonists broke off of Britain, and France executed their king. On the other hand, they both had their ups and downs and in the end, won independance and freedoms. However, the French had ruthless leaders all throughout the revolution, who manipulated them, and the Americans just fought their way to victory with Britain instead of trying to take over.

After World War II, there was a great movement of decolonization, with many colonies reaching independence from their parent countries. After the war, countries had to focus on rebuilding themselves and their economy, which led to a liberation of many colonies.

An example of that is India, that gained its independence from Britain in 1947. We can also mention Libya, Pakistan, Myanmar and Sri Lanka, as countries that reached independence right after WWII.
