Determine the area for the diagram above plzzzzz
gulaghasi [49]

Answer:

see explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

The figure shown has one pair of parallel sides and is a trapezium

The area (A) of a trapezium is calculated using

A = \frac{1}{2} h(a + b)

where h is the height and a, b the length of the parallel sides

here h = 2w, a = w + 3 and b = 4w - 2, hence

A = \frac{1}{2} × 2w(w + 3 + 4w - 2)

   = w(5w + 1) = 5w² + w

Can I get some help, it is due in 15 minutes and I need help. Thanks, any help appreciated
koban [17]

Well, I'm way past the 15 min mark, but here's how to do the question.

With this, you will need to use the distance formula, \sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}, on XY, YZ, and ZX.

XY: \sqrt{(3-1)^2+(1-6)^2}

Firstly, solve inside the parentheses: \sqrt{(2)^2+(-5)^2}

Next, solve the exponents: \sqrt{4+25}

Next, solve the addition, and XY's distance will be √29

(The process is the same with the other 2 sides, so I'll go through them real quickly)

YZ:

\sqrt{(6-3)^2+(3-1)^2}\\ \sqrt{(3)^2+(2)^2}\\ \sqrt{9+4}\\ \sqrt{13}

ZX:

\sqrt{(1-6)^2+(6-3)^2}\\ \sqrt{(-5)^2+(3)^2}\\ \sqrt{25+9}\\ \sqrt{34}

Now that we got the 3 sides, we can add them up: \sqrt{29}+\sqrt{13} +\sqrt{34} =14.8

In short, your answer is 14.8, or the second option.

A sample of size 20 from a normal distribution has sample mean 3.5 and sample variance 14.75. Find 90% confidence intervals for
aleksley [76]

Answer:

Variance =9.2983, 27.6927

Standard deviation = 3.0493, 5.2624

Step-by-step explanation:

n = 20

S = 14.75

X² = chisquare

N-1 = degree of freedom

Alpha = 0.1

Alpha/2 = 0.1/2 = 0.05

1-0.1/2 = 0.95

Using statistics table

X² 19,0.05 = 30.14

X² 19, 0.95 = 10.12

A. 19(14.75)/30.14 , 19(14 75)/10.12

= 9.2983, 27.6927 for the variance of the population

B. Standard deviation = square root of variance

= √9.2983, √27.6927

= 3.0493, 5.2624
