Which is the counterargument?
Artyom0805 [142]
Hey there !

The answer would be C. The clicking method hurts dogs’ ears. Remember that a counter argument in a way, contradicts what you say as a claim.

Let’s say your claim is “ The clicking method is a simple and effective method of training based on a positive reinforcement reward system.” You would then add a three - point thesis ( or reasons to support your claim) and throw in your counter claim. It would sound like “ Although the clicking method hurts dogs’ ears...” You then add something to the sentence to bring readers back to your side.

Hope this helps !

"If you don't know where you're from, you'll have a hard time saying where you're going." Wendell Berry, among others, has voice
Vladimir [108]

Answer with Explanation:

Yes, I agree with Wendell Berry's quote because knowing where you come from gives you an idea of what things you should pursue in life. For example, if you grew up in a poverty-stricken society where education is deemed unimportant, this will allow you to focus on having a good education in the future. This will become your inspiration to pursue greater things in life in order to advance your situation. Another example is, having a beautiful talent in dancing might lead you to a dance career in the future. If you know you've got the guts ever since you were young, then you exactly know what you want in the future. You know where you are heading.

Annabelle's teacher assigned the class an essay for the final
sergiy2304 [10]

Answer:

How did the battle of Gettysburg affect troops on both the North and South?

Explanation:

This will not be able to be a good enough focused question for an essay because...

  • It's not focused enough
  • This topic will finish very quickly, you won't be able to write it long enough
  • This topic is way too deep, an essay has to be focusing on a pretty big and outside type of thing so that It can be long and containing lots of information.
  • This topic is something that can be added in the part of an essay about something related and bigger than this.

How do these deaths figure into the larger plot of the story? What greater meaning might they signify?
allochka39001 [22]

Deaths add emotional value to a story. Deaths can be important to a storyline because it effects many things. It effects the other character's emotions, and it's one less character to fulfill things and help with problems.

Also, once a reader has started to feel things from a story, it's harder for them to put the book down. It makes the reader feel a deeper connection to the characters and plot. It adds interest.

1. In lines 1-14, mark vivid sensory details describing the time of year. Why does Chaucer focus on these sensory details? What
frosja888 [35]

Answer:

See explanation below

Explanation:

The lines describing the time of the year are:

When April with his showers sweet with fruit ----- 1

The drought of March has pierced unto the

root                                                                      ---------2

When Zephyr also has, with his sweet breath, ----------5

Quickened again, in every holt and heath, ----------------6

Then do folk long to go on pilgrimage ---------------------13

Chaucer focuses on these sensory details because he is trying to emulate some Latin and Greek authors who introduce their poems by creating inspiration through a muse. Chaucer then chooses to create inspiration by describing a natural phenomenon of the earth replenishing itself.

From the lines above, the season of the year is spring just after winter. The description implies spring as a symbol of rebirth and new life. A time when the earth replenishes itself after the dry air of winter, a time when there is rain, fresh air and when people long to go on pilgrimage.
