X = number of months the ads have been posted
f(x) = number of books sold w/in the months the ads have been posted

f(x) = 1000(∛x) + 1000

Books sold after 8 months

f(8) = 1000(∛8) + 1000
f(8) = 1000(2) + 1000
f(8) = 2000 + 1000
f(8) = 3000

3000 books were sold after 8 months

Can you please solve 1 and 2 for me please? This doesn't even feel like math, just a stupid riddle.
kherson [118]

Answer:

1. Why does the graph not start at zero?

It doesn't start at zero because all ovens start at 350°(probably less, but normally 350°) and not zero degrees.

2. What does it mean when the graph flattens out?

When the graph flattens out, it means that the temperature doesn't increase nor decrease, but instead it remains the same.

James has mapped his seat and his teacher's seat on the coordinate plane at (0,10) and (–4,6). Find the distance between their s
pshichka [43]

Answer:

4√2 units (Answer C).

Step-by-step explanation:

Going from the seat at (-4,6) to the one at (0,10), x increases by 4 units and y increases by 4 units.  We need to use the distance formula to determine how far apart these seats are.

d = √(change in x)^2 + (change in y)^2 ).

That works out to:

d = √(4^2 + 4^2) = √(32) = 4√2 units (Answer C).
