are both the same length. Find the length of each piece of string.

To start this problem, we know that one of the three pieces that the string is cut into is 15 meters longer than the others. Subtract 15 from 42 to get 27.
Then, from there, you can cut that number (<em>divide</em>) by three to get the length of the two shorter strings. Simply add the 15 meters you didn't use yet to one of the pieces to find the longer string, and you have your lengths.

Hope this helps!

Food A contains 150 calories in 3/4of a serving. Food B contains
nadya68 [22]
Food A has fewer calories per serving.

I found this by taking the first food (A) and dividing 150 by 3. This gave me 50, which I added onto 150 to give me my 4/4 of a serving (200 calories).

With food B, I did the same process. I took 250/2 and added that to the original amount to get the final third of the serving, which resulted in food B being 375 calories.

Find an equation of the line that passes through the points (-0.5,0.75) and (0.75,-0.5)
Keith_Richards [23]

The equation of the line can be shown using the slope intercept form that is

y= mx+b

where m is the slope and b is the y intercept

So firstly we have to find the value of slope m

To find the value of slope m we apply the formula

m= \frac{( y_{2} - y_{1})}{( x_{2} - x_{1})}

So we can plug the values using the two given points

(-0.5,0.75) and (0.75,-0.5)

m= \frac{(-0.5-0.75) }{(0.75-(-0.5))} = \frac{-1.25}{1.25} = -1

So m = -1

Plug m=-1 in the equation we get

y= -1x +b

Now we have to find the value of b

to find the value of b , we plug any one pint in the equation

0.75 = -1(-0.5) +b

0.75 = 0.5 +b

Subtract 0.5 from both sides

0.25 = b

or

b= 0.25

Now plug the value of b , in the equation

we get

y = -1x +0.25

hence the equation of the line is y = -1x +0.25

Teesha is in French club. There are 10 freshman, 12 sophomores, 15 juniors, and 30 seniors in the club. The advisor is going to
FrozenT [24]
We know that

In French club <span>there are
10 freshman
</span><span>12 sophomores
15 juniors
30 seniors

total of the members------> (10+12+15+30)=67
total </span> freshman-----> 10

so
<span>the probability that a freshman will be chosen=10/67
and
</span><span>the probability that a freshman will not be chosen=(67-10)/67
</span>the probability that a freshman will not be chosen=57/67---> 0.8507
0.8507= 85.07%

the answer is
the probability that a freshman will not be chosen is 85.07%

H0w to subtract 3/5 - 2/9 =
pochemuha
So here first you have to have same denominators to subtract and add.
to make same denominator you have to multiply something to them which meets up to their lowest common multiple (LCM). so here the easiest thing is multiply each denominator to the other but remember you have to multiply them to the numerator too.
3×9/5×9-2×5/9×5
so it becomes
27/45-10/45
17/45
as you cant bring to its simplest form since the answer in a prime no. leave it like that.
