Some factors of the Great Depression were the burst of the 1920s credit bubble in the United States as well as the overinflated investing market during the same decade. It helped cause WW2 by radicalising Germans (really by the Nazis) against the rest of the world who they already blamed for their troubles during the 20s.
On Christmas night of 1776, the patriots scored a victory at the Battle of Trenton. Washington and his men crossed the Delaware River into New Jersey, where Trenton is located, and did a surprise attack on the red coats.
It is true that the most horrendous terrorist act in the United STates in the 1990's was the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma. Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols made, planted, and activated several bombs at the federal building. There were 168 people killed on this day and more than 680 injured.
