The steam engine was invented by Rudolf Diesel. Rudolf was a German engineer who grew up in France. But later he left for England and this was during the time of Franco-German war. After this he returned back to Germany to study about the engine designs and during the year of 1880s invented the most innovative diesel engine.

Diesel engine an engine named after the inventor of the engine. This was a very efficient engine and had compression ignition. It also had internal combustion. This engine originally used the dust of the coal as the fuel but then later vegetable oil was used as the fuel.

It was used as the most efficient engine of that time because of which it fell to be less expensive. It had a great impact during this time for transporting goods from one place to another for a huge number of industries. Train transporting, shipping companies saved a lot of money using this engine as the mode of transport.
