It depends on if the ratio is for the same thing. For example, if I said there were 1 cat to every 4 dogs, and I flipped it, I would need to specify that there were 4 dogs to every 1 cat. Hope that helped!

Assume that a procedure yields a geometric distribution where the probability of success is 19%. Use the geometric probability f
Rudiy27

The probability that the first success occurs on the third trial is 0.125.

Answer: Option C

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

The probability of success is given by the geometric distribution formula:

                    P(X=x)=p \times q^{x-1}

Where,

p = probability of success for single trial.

q = probability of failure for a single trial (1-p)

x = the number of failures before a success.

P(X = x) = Probability of x successes in n trials.

<u>Given: </u>

p = 19% = 0.19

q = 1 – p = 1 – 0.19 = 0.81

x = 3

We want to find the probability that the first success occurs on the third trial so,

           P(X=3)=0.19 \times 0.81^{(3-1)}

           P(X=3)=0.19 \times 0.81^{2}

           P(X=3)=0.19 \times 0.6561=0.125

IRA has 128 stamps in his stamp album he has the same number of stamps on each of the eight pages how many stamps on each page
guapka [62]
Well because there's and equal amount on each of the 8 pages, you'd do 128/8 which will show that there's 16 stamps per page.

Find x.<br> a. 40.3<br> b. 37.2<br> c. 17.3<br> d. 19.1
borishaifa [10]

Answer:

x = 17.3

Step-by-step explanation:

Since this is a right triangle, we can use trig functions

sin theta = opp / hyp

sin 25 = x /41

41 sin 25 = x

17.32734=x

Rounding to the tenths place

x = 17.3

The time, t, required to travel a fixed distance varies inversely as the
Lemur [1.5K]

You must travel at 42 mph for 4 hours

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

Time varies inversely as rate of motion

Let "t" be the time required

Let "r" be the rate of motion

Then, we get

t \propto \frac{1}{r}\\\\t = k \times \frac{1}{r}\\\\t = \frac{k}{r} -------- eqn 1

Where, "k" is the constant of proportionality

<em><u>You travel 3 hours at a rate of 56 mph</u></em>

Substitute t = 3 and r = 56 in eqn 1

3 = \frac{k}{56}\\\\k = 3 \times 56\\\\k = 168

<em><u>Find the  rate you must travel for 4 hours</u></em>

r = ? and t = 4

Substitute t = 4 and k = 168 in eqn 1

4 = \frac{168}{r}\\\\r = \frac{168}{4}\\\\r = 42

Thus you must travel at 42 mph for 4 hours
