The vertex form and standard form of a parabola, where a parabola is a graph of a quadratic equation, are as follows:

Vertex Form: a(x - h)2 + k, where (h, k) is the vertex of the parabola.

Standard Form: ax2 + bx + c

To convert from vertex form to standard form, we follow these steps.

In the expression a(x - h)2 + k, FOIL out (x - h)2 to get a(x2 -2hx + h2) + k.

Distribute a throughout to get ax2 - 2ahx + ah2 + k.

Simplify the resulting expression.

For example, consider the parabola given in vertex form:

2(x - 1)2 + 3

To convert this to standard form, we follow our steps:

2(x - 1)2 + 3 FOIL out (x - 1)2.

2(x2 - 2x + 1) + 3 Distribute 2 through.

2x2 - 4x + 2 + 3 Simplify.

2x2 - 4x + 5 This is the parabola in standard form.

We see that 2(x - 1)2 + 3 in standard form is 2x2 - 4x + 5, and converting from vertex form to standard form can be done in a few easy steps.

Find the values of X and Y.
Natasha_Volkova [10]

Answer:

x = 90°

y = 43°

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that one angle equals 47°.

The two triangles are right triangles, so that makes x = 90°.

To find y, we add 90 + 47.

That would give us 137°.

All triangles add up to 180°.

180 - 137 = 43.

43° is the answer.

Anyone good with tables??!!
Zolol [24]
Well what you need to do is find the perimeter of both rectangles.
Rectangle A: ((2x+8)*2)+((x-1)*2)
Rectangle B: ((3x + 5)*2)+((2x-2)*2)
That will be (10x+6)-(6x+14)=4x-8
Your answer will be D.
Hope this is useful

Tricia had 4 1/8 yards of fabric to make curtains. When she finished she had 2 3/8 yards of fabric left. She said she used 2 2/8
ElenaW [278]
Well for this you have to do 4 1/8 - 2 3/8. You cannot subtract 1 - 3, so you have to take away 1 from three and add 8 to 1 so now the equation is 3 9/8 - 2 3/8. This is equal to 1 6/8 or 1 3/4, so no, she did not use 2 2/8 yards of fabric.
