This question can be solved through trial and error method looking at the closest possibilities.

p(x)= (x^2 + x+2)- ( 2x^2 +2(-2x -4))

= (x^2 + x+2) - (2x^2 -4x -8)   ( simplify inner brackets)

if x+2=0, x=(-2) ; p(x)= (-2)

( (-2)^2 + (-2)+2 ) - (2X(-2)^2 - 4X(-2) - 8)   ( solve brackets using BODMAS rule)

(4+0) - (2X2 + 8-8)

4-4

= 0

therefore x= (-2)

Can someone help me with this please

Answer: The system of equations is

40x + 55y = 920

40x + 65y = 1000

x is the cost of the adult ticket; y is the cost of the child ticket

Step-by-step explanation:

If you have to solve this, elimination is a good method.

Subtract the top equation from the second equation.

40x + 65y = 1000

-40x + 55y = 920   x cancels  Solve for y

0  + 10y  =  80    Divide both sides by 10

y  = 8 .  Substitute 8 for y in either equation and solve for x

40x + 65(8) = 1000

40x + 520 = 1000   Subtract 520 from both sides

  40x = 1000 - 520

40x = 480   Divide both sides by 40

x = 12

How many variables should an experiment test at a time
Llana [10]

Answer:

One

Step-by-step explanation:

Testing only one variable at a time lets you analyze the results of your experiment to see how much a single change affected the result. If you're testing two variables at a time, you won't be able to tell which variable was responsible for the result.

Hope this helps,

23. The nth term of a sequence is n2 + 3. Find the first 3 terms of this sequence.
Setler79 [48]
23.
assuming you meann^2+3

first term is n=1, so 1²+3=1+3=4
2nd is n=2 so 2²+3=4+3=7
3rd is n=3 so 3²+3=9+3=12

the first 3 terms are 4,7,12

24.
5th term is 5²+3=25+3=28
10th term is 10²+3=100+3=103

difference is 103-28=75
