We Wear the Mask is a metaphor

Explanation:

Answer: Indirect characterization

Explanation:

This is indirect characterization, because the excerpt does not explicitly say he was mad at his grandmother. Instead, it gives an implicit clue that he is via body language.

What clues should you look for to determine if an authors purpose is to persuade
kozerog [31]
You should always look for the questions that may give off the idea that he/she is trying to persuade you. Also statements. For example, "My whole family loves to eat apples. You should try Granny Smith Apples they taste amazing!"

Hello!

In this paragraph, the author/narrator is referencing everyday things that we may see, like flowers, weeds, rocks, and more, to how they feel!  For example, the author tells us that a flower is basically "trapped" in a pot, although it is beautiful and gets much attention and care, then he compares the trapped flower, to the weed, which although is in a "dangerous condition", it is free.

So, what I understand from this paragraph is that sometimes we can feel trapped, like a flower, or free, like a weed.

Have a wonderful day! Hope this helps! :)
