What is the difference between how prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells maintain dna within their structures?

Biology
1 answer:
Bess [88]4 years ago
4 0

Explanation:

The prokaryotes and eukaryotes are the two forms of the organism which were formed during the evolution of life.

The prokaryotes were formed in the primitive time before the eukaryotes evolved. Since the prokaryotes were evolved earlier, therefore, they are less advanced compared to the eukaryotes.

The genetic material of the prokaryotes is present in the cytosol of the organism and is not enclosed by the membranes but the eukaryotes developed the membrane around the nucleus to protect it.

This double membrane structure or the organelle around the genetic material is known as the nucleus. Thus, prokaryotes have freely floating genetic material whereas the eukaryotes have the membrane-enclosed genetic material.
